Do
I need a phone line for uploads like
satellite systems?
No. TA Highspeed Internet uses bi-directional antennas that can send
and receive without any phone lines. Since a phone line is no
longer needed, many customers cancel their traditional phone service,
and simply use a cell phone.
What about security?
Communications between your location and our access point locations are
encrypted using DES "Data Encryption Standard". This is the
same security used
by federal agencies in their wireless networks. This is not an 802.11
Wi-Fi network.
Does this use a satellite receiver?
TA Highspeed Internet service is not to be confused with satellite
access, like HUGHES (www.hughes.com) or lumped in with cellular phone
services which are slow and require handheld devices. TA Highspeed Internet access does not suffer from the latency or weather
fade that plagues satellite based Internet delivery. TA Highspeed Internet service is not effected by rain, fog or snow.
Fixed
wireless does not require satellite systems, a cable connection, or
even local phone service. By eliminating many of the expenses
associated with other high-speed services, we are able to pass much of
the savings on to our customers to provide an affordable yet high
performance service for business and demanding residential
users.
TA Highspeed Internet uses a small microwave antenna that is attached
to a radio at the customer premises. The Customer Premise Equipment
(CPE) is pointed back to one of our access points. Even during rain or
snow, your TA Highspeed Internet connection will be strong, reliable,
and out of reach of falling limbs, outages, and other effects prone to
wired networks.
Why Wireless?
In two words, No Wire! By removing the cabling and connections of a
complex phone or cable network, TA Highspeed Internet offers extreme
reliability as an end-to-end service without another company in the
middle. This results in better performance.
How fast is installation?
Orders are often completed within days, not weeks or months as can
happen with other services. With the area's most knowledgeable staff,
TA Highspeed Internet service boasts 100% customer satisfaction. Call
417-851-1107 today for a free site survey to see if you are eligible
for TA Highspeed Internet service.
What is involved in Installation?
A typical installation consists of installing our equipment on the side
of your house or building and connecting it to a computer.
Special Installation Circumstances
A typical installation is one that can be completed within 2 hours.
Time over 2 hours is billed at $50.00 an hour when we encounter
problems that are not a result of our equipment.
How do I arrange payment?
We require that the install fee be paid at the time of
installation. Cash or check is preferred, but we also will
take a debit/credit card. At TA Highspeed Internet we try our
best to
make it easy to do business!
What are my computer
requirements?
TA Highspeed Internet service is delivered to your computer or LAN
via
Ethernet. Your computer must have an Ethernet port installed. Most
computers built in the past two years came with this factory installed.
If your computer does not have an Ethernet card they can be purchased
for under $20.00 at many locations including Staples or Wal-Mart. We
can not install this device in your computer because of liability
issues. If you have multiple computers connected in a LAN, TA
Highspeed Internet service will be connected to your LAN at your
existing
network location.
Technical

If you encounter a problem after we leave please contact us

be reached at 417-851-1107.
Frequently
TA Highspeed Internet customers call us with support issues that are
